Property Committee

The Property Committee has had a very busy year.

The Nursery was redone with new walls, floor, and painting. A mural was painted on one wall and all new furniture was purchased. Toys were sorted and cleaned.

Work was completed in the basement Scout room with repair to walls and ceiling. Repairs were also made on the south wall of the kitchen.

New chair racks and round tables were purchased, along with a beautiful new serving counter in Fellowship Hall.

The old furnace and some of the lead pipes were removed from the basement area. The janitorial storage area was cleaned and reorganized. The Property Committee hosted a day of complete cleaning of the church property and filled a dumpster with items that were no longer useful.

The steps on the west side of the building were replaced and work has begun on the gutters on the upper areas of the west side of the church. More work is pending for this area.

Thanks to everyone who has helped the Property Committee in any capacity in 2013!

Save The Date!

The State of the Church will be the topic of the gathering on January 26 at 6:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. There will be a baked potato bar; the Membership Committee will provide baked potatoes and toppings, drinks and table service. You are asked to bring a salad or dessert to share. After the meal, a presentation will be given by Rev. Ingersoll. On Sunday, when you are signing the Friendship Register, please put a number beside your name if you plan to attend the supper. We would just like to be sure we have enough potatoes!

The Secret Place

For the last three years, a generous person in the congregation (not the same person each year) has underwritten the subscription of The Secret Place for the congregation to take home and use for their daily devotions.

The subscription is expiring with the Spring 2014 issue. We have a subscription for 12 copies at a yearly rate of $105.00.

Would you be willing to underwrite the subscription and share the devotionals with others?

If so, write a check to First Christian Church and mark it for a subscription to The Secret Place and place it in the offering.
